Alagoa Guesthouse

We have been using the Alagoa Guesthouse in Betalbatim, Goa which was originally a 12-roomed hotel, for some fifteen years. An additional 24 rooms have been built recently.

The Alagoa is in a quiet location with paddy fields on one side and a coconut grove on the other. This guesthouse is in a peaceful location and is ideal for those looking to relax and get away from it all. The open-air restaurant and bar serves Goan, Indian and international cuisine. Since our last visit, a swimming pool has been built in the middle of a coconut grove, some 100m from the hotel and it’s a great place to sunbathe. A 600m stroll along a track and past the Coconut Grove Hotel will take you to the superb beach. The beach is quiet and as wide as two football pitches and is idea for people to sample how Goa was twenty years ago.

Jewel guests are accommodated in the original block. The spacious rooms are simply furnished with twin beds, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, en-suite SH&WC and enclosed balcony, mostly overlooking the paddy fields.
