Marquis Beach Resort

The Marquis Beach, Candolim, Goa is a lovely boutique hotel with only 42 rooms is situated in a superb location on Candolim beach. For clients who know Goa, it is approximately a 5 minute walk from the Taj Holiday Village. The Marquis Beach has a long history of regular repeat guests from all over the world and is run by Simon Fernandes, a very experienced hotelier, who ensures the superb standards of the hotel are maintained year after year.

Built in Portuguese style on two storeys with an open courtyard, the Marquis Beach has an attractive swimming pool with plenty of space for sunbathing and, on the other side of the pool there is a dance area where live music is played four times per week. The pool is served by a bar and restaurant and is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. This area leads on to the delightful gardens, shaded with coconut trees, ideal for sunbathing and generally relaxing on the sun loungers provided. Since our last visit an additional block has been added to the property, however, this does not spoil the ambience of the Marquis Beach, which continues to offer high levels of satisfaction in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Shiro Beach Restaurant, which is about 25 feet above sea level, is located at the end of the gardens. The views of the beach shacks and the Arabian sea are absolutely spectacular from this vantage point making it the ideal place to sit in the late afternoon, sipping a gin and tonic, waiting for the stunning Goa sunsets. There are steps leading directly down to Candolim beach where there are plenty of beach shacks which tend to be a little more sophisticated in this area of Candolim.

All the twin rooms are very comfortable and offer air-conditioning, TV with BBC world, mini-bar, en-suite SH&WC and balcony or terrace.
